Congratulations to Catherine Wang who gained a Distinction in her MSc studies at the London School of Economics (LSE). She was on the Decision Sciences stream of the Management Science (MG4C7 Applied Management Science).
Cogentus provided her with her summer project - "Using EBA (Elimination By Aspects) & MCDA (Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis) to Choose the Optimal Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Agricultural Surveying".
This project was useful to us in that it combined two of our software tools within a single decision model. It used "Smart Decisions" as the MCDA software and our "Ideas Catalog" as the software for identifying potential unmanned aerial vehicles for agricultural surveying. The MCDA aspect considered the decision from the perspective of multiple stakeholders and Smart Decisions has a number of features that allows their different value systems to be considered. She "found our software better than ******" - the software she was taught on, so that was a very useful commendation.
Dr Simon Walne (Imperial College London) was Catherine's academic supervisor for the project.
She has now returned to China where she is an intern at Baidu, in the AI department and responsible for designing strategies and some operation works. She has received full time job offers from consulting companies and is currently considering her best options. We wish her well for the future and thank her for a good project.
